Using Tags

Tags can be added to blog posts and pages and even to individual entries in Scriblio. Tagging allows users of Scriblio to add a keyword or phrase to an entry. Tags describe the item or add information about the item. Tags can be searched and also items with the same tag can be grouped together.

Typically, an item will have one or more tags associated with it. Scriblio will automatically create links to other items that share these tags.

Type your tags in the box that says “Tag it! Enter your tags here. tag one, tag2, Tag Three!.” The tag box is written this way to show that you can write tags in any number of styles (caps, no caps, spaces, no spaces, with or without numbers) just make sure to put a comma in-between each tag.

This explanation is paraphrased from the Wikipedia definition.

I recently attended a workshop where casey spoke about scriblio and wordpress and I wanted to try to set it up and try to use it for our RI digital collection (which we have on our website in jalbum…..tacky I know:-)
Anyway I set up a virtual machine with xamp and wordpress (with only an internal ip)
I installed Slikr and Podpress and was able to bring in pictures from the RI Collection and a few podcasts that I had sent up to Youtube.
I installed scriblio and companion plugins and then tried to configure it to search tags ( in the options page of wordpress)
All I have managed to do so far is create multiple “browse” buttons on the blog main page.
I would like to get rid of the 5 browse buttons I had inadvertently created but can’t for the life of me figure out how.
I would hate to start the whole wordpress install over again.
Is there an easy way to get rid of multiple buttons?
Is there an easy way to search tags? I never did see anything called “tag it” and when I try to search in the search box it searches keywords within the blog but not tags.
    I know….duh

Sounds like an ambitious project! Let us know how Scriblio works out for it.

The way Scriblio works, by default, is on the front page, only posts regular posts show. An example here: http://working.remainingrelevant.net The catalog records will show in the browse base you set in the Options -> Scriblio working.remainingrelevant.net/browse

So, there’s no need to create buttons, it should work that way by default. Unless there’s something I’m misunderstanding?

Also, tags will be searched automatically….
