Presentation Roundup
I’ll be demonstrating a bit of WPopac today at AALL, but because there’s no live internet and the program is very short, my emphasis will be on how APIs (like OpenSearch) are enabling new uses of bibliographic data.
Update: UNLV’s Tom Boone summarized my presentation better than I could.
Previously, WPopac was the core of my presentations about “Designing an OPAC for Web 2.0” at IUG 2006 and ALA Midwinter. The first live public demonstration of WPopac was at code4lib 2006, where my presentation spoke of the need to adopt standards from outside the library community as a necessary condition for sustainable development.
